ATAP holds monthly membership calls the third Wednesday of every month to inform members of a variety of pertinent policy and programmatic issues.

2015 Summary

In 2015, ATAP held monthly membership calls in order to educate the membership on details related to the transition from the Department of Education to the Administration for Community Living, the Section 508 refresh of the Rehabilitation Act, how State AT Programs can collaborate with the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDLRR), preparation for advocacy work and ATAP’s annual conference. Also shared with the membership was technical assistance regarding the state-level activity reutilization and staff trainings along with budget updates from policy experts in Washington.

2014 Summary

In 2014, ATAP held monthly calls with their members to inform them on a variety of pertinent issues. One important topic facing ATAP members was the move in agencies from the Department of Education to the Administration for Community Living. Therefore, many calls focused on information important to such a shift and also featured guest speakers from ACL to share information and also answer members’ questions. Additionally, each year as Congress develops a budget, there are many questions and updates to provide on this process. Calls featured marquee Capitol Hill staff who shared budget information with the membership and answered questions. Calls were also used to share information regarding elections, ATAP’s conference, webinars the Association would host and other advocacy related content.
